In poker, it’s never easy. This hand is a prime example. Even though Erica (David Benyamine’s wife, by the way!) catches one of the best cards in the deck on the turn, the river nullifies her boat in favor of Gus’ mortal nuts: quad jacks with the Ace kicker.

I got this from a video Gus posted through ThePlayr.com – and obviously he has a point. Check-raising represents an extremely strong hand, and in the games Gus plays I’m assuming this strategy, if used rarely, works like a charm. Here’s what he says:

Well, from my experience in medium- and low-stakes online No-Limit Hold’em games, I can tell you this strategy is a lot less valueble the lower the stakes get. Try to use it only when you have a good read on your low-stakes opponent, because on average they will not be experienced enough to understand your advanced play, or even what BASIC representation you’re trying to make WITH your advanced play. Beware!

Online Poker in Europe is growing like never before. The Casino and Poker Market are getting better and bigger every day. On the other hand the US is loosing terain every day because of the Uiega. The beste online casino are not permitted every day in the US and thats really a shame. Of course you can play Poker and casino games every day in Las Vegas but thats not the same as playing in a online Casino or online poker room.

In Europe for example the casinos en ligne are not forbidden and alot of players play every day and win big numbers. Also the bonus casino en ligne is much better in a online casino or online poker room. If you play poker online it’s allways good to search the best option for you available. Some people in Holland play the best games in their ideal online casino. Some people in Germany like to play with the beste online casino or online casino bonus.

Out of the ten e-mails I get through this site, about 7 are from people who love Gus Hansen “BECAUSE HE’S THE SICKEST POKER PLAYER OF THEM ALL”.

I disagree.

Yes, Gus is capable of making strange and unlogical plays at any point in any game — but mostly during the later stages of a tournament, or in a cash game. Hardly anyone has seen Gus play cash game poker (and the highly edited High Stakes Poker show might be great, but it’s not showing the game in full AT ALL, I think they show about 15% of the hands), and nobody ever sees him play in the first stages of a major tournament.

Gus is a maniac when gambling is worth it — when the blinds and antes are worth getting, and when a lot of people are trying to climb up the money ladder.

Gus the sickest? No way!

I’m assuming Mike’s doing this to keep his image alive, but he just lost some more respect from me…

This is quite funny — Gus cold calls with AQs after a raise when Jeff Madsen shoves with AJos. You’d expect Gus to think about whether or not to call and then probably throw his hand away but Gus instacalls and sees he made an excellent call against the AJos.

The turn brings a Jack for Jeff Madsen but the river is the Justice-Card…

AQ beats AJ. Justice, right?

EXCELLENT news for High Stakes Poker fans AND Gus Hansen — rumour is he’ll be playing in the Season 5 of High Stakes Poker on GSN — together with other big names like Sam Farha and Daniel Negreanu.

It’s no news but today I was kind of surprised as to what extent some women will go through to get Gus’ phone number. A lingerie model sent me photos and a resume telling me she met Gus in Vegas one day and forgot to ask his phone number, hoping I had it and could give it to her so she could get in touch with him again…

This is either one hot little girl or a very very ingenious bookie.
